Siaya Senator, James Orengo, on Wednesday night, insinuated that Deputy President William Ruto was bound to win even if President Uhuru Kenyatta failed.
While appearing on KTN News' Point Blank, the outspoken senator revealed that the DPhad nothing to lose whichever turn Uhuru's legacy takes.
The lawyer further explained that it was only Uhuru who would be held accountable in the books of history.
“In writing history, they will talk about Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure. Ruto will not feature,” he explained.
He further blasted the DP for derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy by constantly ahead of 2022.
He revealed that the government was operating in a disjointed mode where the DP was concentrating on campaigns while the cabinet was divided and the Judiciary was neglected.
“The government has become dysfunctional. It is at cross-purposes. The DP has made his ambitions of 2022 presidency clear, which is making it hard for him to serve the president.
“Cabinet is dysfunctional. They are throwing stones at each other. The current one cannot work together to achieve the government’s agenda,” he continued.
He cited the DP's views on the ongoing Arror and Kimwarer dams investigations and claimed that they were diversionary.
“Ruto should not be speaking from the sidelines because he is in government. If I were Ruto, I would do the honourable thing by resigning," he offered.
He also attacked the agencies for not working in harmony enough to help the president realise his pledges.
