Esther passaris admitted in aghakhan hospital

  • Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris was on Monday, September 16, 2019, admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital. 
    The legislator revealed that she was to undergo a surgical procedure to address issues with her spinal cord.
    "Admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital for a Medial Branch Block procedure plus Paraspinal L3 to S1 under the care of Dr Thikra Shariff and Mr Livingstone Olunya," she disclosed.

    In a video posted on her social media, Passaris explained that she was in pain and had been put on up to eight tablets a day to ease the pain.

    She stated that rudimentary tasks such as walking had become a tall order due to her condition.
    "I miss gyming, I have not been able to exercise. I can't walk for more than half an hour. I can't sleep at night and that's why I look exhausted. Even with the painkillers, I can't sleep," she stated.
    Passaris noted that the procedures she has undergone to remedy the pain had been expensive. She credited her insurance cover for enabling her access the medical care that she needed.

    On Sunday, Passaris joined women leaders under the Team Embrace interparty alliance for a church service at the Quakers Church, Ngong Road. In her video, the MP explained that she was in pain throughout the service.
    "Yesterday I was in church and every time we had to stand for a song, I was in pain. I chose to stand because people wouldn't understand why I am sitting," she added.
