Eliud Kipchoge was born on 5th November 1984 in Kapsisiywa, Nandi District. He is a Kenyan long-distance runner, the 2016 Olympic marathon gold medallist, and current world record marathon holder. He is termed as “the greatest marathoner of the modern era.” He has won 10 out of 11 marathons he raced – in his second marathon in 2013 when Wilson Kipsang ran the then world record, registering the second position.
