  • Citizen TV executives have made an offering to Davis Saoli, the high school boy whose imitation of the station's reporters went viral online on Saturday, November 2.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Kilimani-based media house's Editorial Director Joe Ageyo revealed that due to the boy's talent, the station had offered him access to its studios where he is set to interact with its anchors.
He further disclosed that Saoli was to start receiving mentorship from seasoned media personalities at Citizen TV and that the station was interested in seeing the breadth of his abilities.

"We are really interested in him and so eager to see what he can do. We are just mentoring him for now and he is allowed to visit the station and interact with the anchors," stated Ageyo.

Saoli would, however, not receive any assignments from the station until he completed his studies and chose journalism and media as his career path.
"We cannot allow him to report now because he is still a student in high school. We want him to finish his studies first and decide if he wants to pursue journalism as a career," he continued.
In the viral video, the confident boy held a microphone manually inscribed with the words 'Citizen TV' as he made a report about Mau Forest.

He impersonated journalists from the station who are tasked with reporting live from the location as he effortlessly moved from one story to another.
"Naam Nimrod, nakupokea vyema nikiwa kaunti ya Narok, tukiwa na shughuli ya kuondoa watu katika msitu wa Mau. (Yes Nimrod (a news anchor at the station), I can get you loud and clear from Narok County, where people are being evacuated from Mau Forest)" the young boy mimicked.
He constantly kept touching his earphone, pretending that he was communicating with the director in the studio.
The boy's video went viral, with many people complimenting his courage while others asking Citizen TV MD Wachira Waruru to consider hiring him for a teen show.
