Gakara is accused of killing two of his children by injecting them with an unknown chemical substance, before attempting suicide.
He was found by police officers at the scene and rushed to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital, where he died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
Police who are still combing through his house after the incident have found a suicide note detailing why he committed the murder.
Apparently he and his wife had marital differences.
The wife was leaving him for another man and they were about to start divorcing.
The wife had planned to move abroad after the divorce.
