The death of top Kenyan athlete Agnes Tirop has opened up a Pandora box of the domestic issues that had rocked the young relationship after her a jealous hus recent success. The killing has sparked outrage from close family friends who termed Agnes as a future star whose life was cut short by jealousy.
According to The Star digital news media platform, a suspected love triangle is believed to be the reason the lover attacked Agnes after he got wind that she had preferred staying back at her athletic camp rather than with him. This seems to have justified the husbands notion that another man was involved in the dwindling relationship that had hit the rocks immediately after her exemplary performance in Japan.
Close friends including former 800 meter world record holder Pamela Jelimo who was visibly shaken and in tears narrated that the domestic brawl persisted after her win in the Berlin Marathon, Germany. The suspect is said to have been financially dependent on Agnes who was raking in millions from her winnings. The police are still hunting the suspect who went into hiding aft er the incident.
