- As much as it wouldn't be a surprise, many Kenyans don't know that President Uhuru Kenyatta's daughter works at his organisation.Ngina serves as a director at The Kenyatta Trust, which educates disadvantaged youth in academic, moral, spiritual, social, economic and life skills through the provision of financial aid, in the form of continued scholarships and mentorshipThough details of her academic history are scanty, she is a graduate of international relations and politics.
She has a big desire to see that Kenyan children continue to receive quality education after completing primary school.
“As a director of The Kenyatta Trust, I have committed to transforming the lives of the beneficiaries not only through education but through social empowerment, skills building and mentorship.“Through The Kenyatta Trust, we plan to bring up children who are not only equipped with the academic know-how but are well rounded in all aspects of life,” Ngina is quoted by the organisation.Uhuru sister, Nyokabi Kenyatta Muthama also works as a director in the organisation.
During President Barack Obama's most recent visit to Kenya, Ngina had a private discussion with the former leader of the free world. The first daughter briefed Obama on the projects carried out by the charity organisation that sponsors intelligent but disadvantaged Kenyan students, through high school and until completion of their first degree.
Among those present during the meeting was the president himself, who happens to be the NGO’s patron.
