Kenya Navy through their representative retired col. Lawrence Gituma has told the press that their search may soon yield.
Speaking at the Mbaraki Wharf on Tuesday, the Navy confirmed that the new technology they had deployed in the ocean had sighted unnatural objects on the sea bed.
Lawrence who is also the head of research in the mission said they had narrowed down their search after they pinpointed four areas of interest.
“The team will tonight analyse all the data from the images taken in the water today,”
The Navy, however, added that these areas of interest are covered with mud.
Remote controlled cameras would be deployed in the ocean to help capture the unnatural objects. The South African divers acquired by the family of the victims are also at the scene and carried out an extensive search on Tuesday.
“In that locality that we think will pay off there is a mud layer of 1.5m,”
“That area also shows signs of disturbance by an artificial object that is not common in the sea,”
