President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Mt Kenya leaders at a meeting currently underway at Sagana State Lodge that he has never said whom he will support in 2022. A number of DP William Ruto supporters have always insisted that Uhuru promised to finished his two terms and hand over to William Ruto to lead the country for two terms.
”I thank these leaders because they know you never elected me only. However, I have not been hearing about these issues from some of them. They only talk about 2022 and abuse each other.I wonder when shall we help our people? Wakati wa kura utafika tena. I have never said who we will elect,” President Uhuru said.
The president retraced his political journey from 2007 and gave a bit by bit explanation of events starting from 2007 to 2017 to post handshake. He gave the leaders a history of the country’s post election violence and asked them to support his reconciliation and forgiveness efforts across the political divide.
”I will take you back on the journey we have walked together. In 2007, you recall what we went through. The country almost went up in flames.Am sure even here there are people with sad memories because of the chaos, especially our people in the Rift Valley.I remind you my personal efforts on forgiveness and forging a way forward,” the president said.

He said it is from reading the report that Kenyans will know what they want and what they do not want. He added that if there are any disagreements on the BBI, it should be done honorably.
”When BBI comes I will make it public, we go through it and agree on what we want.If we disagree, we should do it honorably with all opinions aired. Then build a consensus,” he added.
