In 2017, Anjlee penned a poem for her friend and confidant Janet Kanini Ikua
- The two were both suffering from cancer and supported each other through the bitter illness
- Janet died first and that broke Anjlee to pieces
- Two years later, Kenyans cannot help but replay the painful video of Anjlee saying goodbye to a woman she loved more than life
Before the lights went out, before the birds stopped singing, late TV presenter Anjlee Gadhvi left behind a few gems.
As her fans struggled to mourn her loss, a video of the fallen mum and beloved presenter reminiscing her friend Janet Kanini Ikua made its way to the internet.

Kenyans were left in tears on Sunday, January 12, when they spotted a YouTube video of a previously lively Anjlee paying tribute to Janet.
The former K24 presenter who died from liver cancer was seen wondering how Janet’s soul was doing after her untimely death back in 2017.

“Dear Janet, it has been a while since we spoke. You have been quiet, a bit too quiet. I wish I knew what was running through your mind. Today I heard you left and I do not know how to reach you,” Anjlee narrated in a lovely poem.
Just like her, Janet, a former presenter, died from cancer after a long battle with the disease.
The two were cancer warriors who treaded the trying waters together and braved through the storm and hardships of the disease side by side.
Two years after Janet’s death, Anjlee is no more and all her fans could do was cry desperately as they said goodbye on the comment section.
Emotional Kenyans regretted losing two powerhouses to the same disease in such a short time.
All most could muster the courage to say was “what a loss, how sad.”
Anjlee died on Friday, January 10.
She struggled with the disease for six difficult years and fought till the end.
Despite being under the weather a couple of times, the mother of two still showed up to work and encouraged Kenyans through her touching social media posts.
