Bridget Shighadi, commonly known as Sofia in the Maria drama series which airs on Citizen TV, is among the lead characters in the drama. Bridget acts alongside other major  characters such as Brian Ogana (acting as Luwi) and Yasmin Said (acting as Maria).

She acts as an evil, greedy woman who forces and gets married to the posh family’s son- Luwi. This is to inherit everything that belongs to the family when her father-in-law would die.

Sofia even colludes with the doctor to forge pregnancy and lures the family into a wedding ceremony with hopes to be fully accepted in the family.

Her role in the drama makes many fans who follow the series to develop negative attitude towards her because she makes it look real.

On a radio interview, Bridget asked fans not to hate her. After all it is just acting and her real-life personality is different from what Sofia portrays on screens.

She further stated that her boyfriend goes uncomfortable sometimes about her role in the Maria series, just like any man can do but he is after all he is so supportive to his lovely beautiful girlfriend.
