Source: UGC The 31-year-old put up a brave fight in battling the disease but she caught an infection that her immunity could not fight, given it was already compromised. However, it was easy to tell that the lovely young lady was a courageous woman who did not fear even writing her own eulogy for her burial and in which she summarised her life in the most precise and heartwarming way.
A close family friend who spoke to TUKO.co.ke said Bett wrote the eulogy and it was only refined by her husband so that it can be read tomorrow, Friday, October 28, during her send-off ceremony.
Praises to her husband One of the most notable parts of her sweet eulogy is where she praised her husband Brian Karoney whom she explained they met during their studies at Strathmore University. "We built a friendship based on fun, humour, play and intellectual discourse. After six years of dating, Brian proposed to me in the most unforgettable way. Just to give you some details, can you imagine he rented out the entire cinema at Prestige Plaza and created an emotional movie," she narrated in her eulogy.
She said Karoney was truly the perfect husband and exuded confidence that their daughter will be in safe hands. : “My Strength” Bett's legacy In her write-up, the mother of one said she had big plans to raise awareness of aplastic anemia but unfortunately, she cannot now that she is gone. "It was also my dream to find a way to enable bone marrow transplant to become available in Kenya," she said. In her final words, she sent her love to her friends and family and asks them to send her in words of a love song. "Well, I've had just enough time. What I never did is done...And I will be wearing white when I go into his kingdom. So, put on your best and I will wear my pearls. Send me away with the words of her love song," she said. Losing both lovers While doing an interview with renowned blogger SammyKay Media, she narrated that the two refused to take responsibility for her pregnancy upon finding out about their dating situation. To add salt to the injury, the 21-year-old said her mother was distressed by the outcome of events and said she was ashamed of how things turned out. ''I lost both of them because of what happened; I was dating two guys, they both realised that it's not theirs. 'Whenever they came to the area, people would tell them that tomorrow this car will come and drop her, tomorrow that; so due to that, they got to know there is something fishy,'' she said. She disappointed her mother Zaina, now six months pregnant, said her mother started showing signs of mental trauma after telling her about her situation with both men. "So, after telling my mother such a thing, it didn’t even reach two weeks, and she started having mental issues. So, right now, I feel I have caused her to be in that particular [state] place because up till now, she's not fine," she added. Husband-to-be gets ex-lover pregnant In a different story, TUKO.co.ke highlighted a husband-to-be who got his ex-lover pregnant after his fiancee postponed the wedding date. The man had everything planned, but the wedding could not go on due to the COVID-19 stipulations on gatherings. His efforts to get the wife to move in with him also went futile as her family turned down his request.
