Leaked Audio Shows Agnes Tirop husband confessing why he killed her shocking detectives

Audio obtained by TBEN.co.ke Friday, October 15, revealed new details about the disappearance of Kenyan athlete Agnes Tirop.

In the audio, husband Emanuel Ibrahim Rotich, who is also the prime suspect in her death, reached out to a friend, crying and stating that he has come to his end and wants to die.

Rotich lamented the relationship with Tirop and thanked the friend for his support and help in solving their marital problems.

He expressed that he wanted to kill himself and also hinted that he had done the wrong thing. The friend got worried and asked Emanuel where he was, but he refused to answer.

The friend then begged Rotich to come to town or tell him where he was, promising to help him solve what was bothering him.

However, Rotich continued to cry and admitted that the friend had been of immense help to the couple, but he was out of breath and he did not wish to continue in pain.

It comes after Keiyo South OCPD, Tim Makori, who spoke to reporters after the athlete’s death, revealed that Tirop and Rotich’s parents visited Iten police station on Wednesday morning following to a report filed by the father of the deceased the day before, indicating that his daughter had disappeared.

During their interaction with the police, Rotich’s parents said he contacted them crying and asked for their forgiveness. However, he hadn’t told them what he had done wrong.

“Alarmed by the statements, the police went to their home. When they entered, they found Tirop on the bed with blood all over the place. She had been stabbed in the neck,” Makori said.

Locals told reporters that the 25-year-old and her husband have been having domestic quarrels for some time.

They suspected Tirop had gone to collect his belongings from the husband’s house when the unfortunate turn of events occurred.

Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the deceased’s husband may have been involved in her death.

Rotich was arrested in Changamwe, Mombasa County, on Thursday, October 14. A statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said Rotich was trying to flee to a neighboring country.
