The story of 'witches' being burnt in Kisii County today started with a form 4 student who was allegedly lured out of the house at night, bewitched then lost hearing and talking abilities.
The student is said to have regained hearing and talking abilities shortly after in the morning after he was discovered in a banana plantations. He then started randomly identifying the alleged witches who had bewitched him.
The villagers then started hunting for the identified 'witches' most of them very old grandmothers who are widows. They were clobbered with crude weapons and then set on fire without any interrogation.
The murderers who killed these innocent people shouldn't be shown mercy at all. We must stop this vice which has been ongoing in Gusii Kenya for a long time now. It is UNACCEPTABLE.
WITCHCRAFT is just a fallacy. It is just a tagged on misconstrued half truths which are just based on some misconceptions which doesn't hold waters or any fact.
The authorities must sweep across Bomokana village, in Kitutu Chache North, arrest those murderers and punish them without mercy.
